Update: MAY 8, 2024
Our network remains isolated from all connectivity at CHC, and currently there is no known direct exposure to the Change Healthcare event. CHC played a significant role in the delivery of electronic claim submissions to our organization and participates in our payment and EOB fulfillment cycles.
Delivery of electronic claim submissions (Payer ID 03036)
Effective March 14, our electronic payer ID was redirected to an alternative EDI clearing house. We have restored these capabilities and are receiving electronic claims.
We are pursuing supplementary clearing house relationships to ensure redundancy for these services soon. Upon selection of an additional partner(s), relevant information will be shared with the provider community.
Payment and EOB fulfillment cycles
Effective April 4, 2024, we began releasing claim payment and EOBs. Any accumulated backlog has since been exhausted and our payment and explanation cycles have returned to normal.

Change Healthcare Cyber Incident
As you may be aware, on February 21, 2024, the health care delivery ecosystem experienced a wide-reaching incident. Change Healthcare (CHC), a United Health Group company and large provider of revenue and payment cycle management solutions, found indications of a security compromise and shut down all systems. This has caused significant network disruptions nationwide. The event has had far reaching implications across the healthcare landscape, including timeliness of filling of prescriptions, routing of claims from providers to payers, access to electronic medical records, and many other payment and remittance processes.
Actions we have taken:
Upon notification of the cyber event, we immediately:
- Disabled all inbound/outbound transactions and connectivity points with CHC.
- Enabled enhanced alerting within our security infrastructure.
- Scanned our environments for any prior contact related to the bad actors involved in this incident.
Our network has been isolated from all connectivity at CHC, and at this time there is no known direct exposure to the Change Healthcare event.
What is the impact?
We are facing disruption to our service operations. Like many other carriers and administrators in the marketplace, we were reliant upon many of the industry solutions provided by Change Healthcare. CHC plays a critical role in the delivery of electronic claim submissions to our organization and participates in our payment and EOB fulfillment cycles.
What are we doing?
We have been diligently exploring alternative partners to enable us to perform these critical functions. Though we cannot provide a specific date for the resumption of these activities, we are confident that our business continuity and contingency planning efforts will yield a solution(s) in a timely manner.
What can you expect?
In the interim, you may experience diminished claim volume and the delay of certain claim payments to members or providers.
We will continue to share updates here as they become available.
